Curriculum
- Language and Interaction: Language is a medium of thought and expression. VEDANTA supports the development of children’s thinking, sociability, emotions and interaction skills and their learning processes with the aid of language in particular. This helps to strengthen children’s emotional life, creativity and self – esteem. Children are given diverse interactive situations, both in everyday communication situation and in learning situation. This helps them to grow into active speakers and listeners.
- Mathematics: The learning environment shall support and promote the development of each child’s positive attitude towards mathematical thinking. Children’s understandings of mathematics are taught the natural way by stories, plays, discussions and games and ample use of illustrative examples.
- Ethics and Philosophy: General ethical education shall be included in all activities which will help in the development of Self- esteem, interpersonal social skills and care for the environment. This helps in the development of children’s ethical thinking. Education in cultural philosophy will lead to the development of philosophical thinking. This will not only help the child to appreciate the cultural and natural heritage of their own but also that of other cultures. They shall deal with tolerance and temperance, justice and fairness, courage and one’s own identity, as well as compassion, benevolence and care.
- Environmental and Natural Studies:Children learn to understand and appreciate natural and man- made environment , different people and environment, as well The effect of their own action on their environment. Children will learn to preserve and care for the environment. They shall be encouraged to form questions and seek answers. They will learn to describe, compare, classify and sort information through observation.
- Health: Vedanta shall promote the Physical, psychological, and social health, growth and development of children. They shall be guided to take care of their health and daily personal hygiene. Their healthy eating habits shall be supported and they shall be guided in good table manners. They shall be encouraged to take correct balance between work, rest, and recreation.
- Physical and Motor Development: Children’s physical and motor condition, movement control and basic motor skills shall be trained through exercise and play. Their fine motor functions, manual skills and hand-eye coordination shall be developed through everyday activities.
- Art and Culture: At Vedanta, musicals and other artistic experiences shall form a significant part of the children’s emotional, practical and cognitive development. Children’s creativity, imagination and self expression will be developed through making pictures, and objects by hand, drama, dance, music and movement. They shall learn to appreciate their own work and that of other people.
